Pobbles quarry-bolting policy. Quite agree and could easily set in motion a team to see the job through however is this National Trust land and if so don't they need to be consulted?

Yes, they'll need to consulted. A good beginner's crag. --Tim Hoddy 15:42, 19 May 2012 (BST)

Indeed an excellent beginers crag, moderate grades,non-tidal,a quarry, easy approach, south facing.I will try and contact the nouveau Stu(is it Tucker or Nick Goile?) to in turn contact National Trust person Gower, sometimes they know if it's on their land(not always) and ask their opinion re blots.

Some work was done here today (8 Sep 2012). Two lines were drilled on the left of the crag on the cruddy rock. Two lines on the right were drilled and stapled and share a common lower-off. Big thanks to whomever did this. Can you let either update the wiki or lets us know the details please? --Tim Hoddy 19:44, 8 September 2012 (BST)

"There have been two large majority votes in favour of bolting this venue. These were taken at the BMC area meetings in 4th September, 2012 and 31st January, 2013. The person doing the initial survey was admonished for "disfiguring the rock" with drill holes. As a result of these initial probings he suggests that very long glue in bolts be used(at least on the middle/left of the crag)"

Hold on! The routes were drilled on the 8th of September 4 days after the majority vote on the 4th of September. How come the admonishment? --Tim Hoddy 15:34, 1 February 2013 (GMT)

POBBLES QUARRY-Revision of bolting policy entry

Hi Tim as you suggest the wordy Bolting Policy could perhaps better be aired on this Talk/Discussion page rather than clutter up the crap gage. As the BMC area meeting have voted YES to bolting and the NT have said they have no objections to bolting would this simple statement " New sport routes permissible, retrobolting possible after consultation with first ascentionist." better replace the ramblings which formed as the situation developed. Is it possible to replace the old entry with the above terse statement.

I can do it myself just thought I'd run it past you first--Roy thomas (talk) 10:53, 14 July 2013 (BST)

How about keeping it even shorter ? "Retro-bolting permissible. New sports routes allowed." ?

You can put the other stuff on this page... but only if you wish. I can vouch for the fact that Mark Winder is quite happy for his two routes to be bolted and if some lunatic wishes to add another trad route there...., I don't think anyone is going to waste their time equipping it! --Tim Hoddy (talk) 11:33, 14 July 2013 (BST) Will use your version as it sums up the end result,no need to explain/justify how we got there. Must go now to the shade of Odin's cave then drill up a few lines at Gravesend, might have a few left over for Scavengagger.

Just entered the short sharp version on crag page.--Roy thomas (talk) 13:14, 14 July 2013 (BST)

Thanks. You'll be lucky if you get to park within about 4 miles of Odin's Cave... I've just come back from a walk out to Paviland (from Overton). The traffic on the way back was awful. --Tim Hoddy (talk) 15:30, 14 July 2013 (BST)
