Just set all this up... test away. Tim Hoddy 11:58, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

hey, tim how do you recon we stand nicking thse aerial photos from the web?--Alan rosier 00:57, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

I don't know. From where did you get them? --Tim Hoddy 06:53, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

a website called bing--Alan rosier 19:53, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

Bing is a search engine... give me a URI of one of the maps... --Tim Hoddy 09:38, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

www.bing.com/maps

I think it's very unlikely. Look at the copyright notice at the bottom of each aerial shot. You could always drop Micro$oft an email. :) --Tim Hoddy 19:30, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

I'm not sure about the ethics and legality of these, I might take them off. OS copyright says you can take one screen dump for personal use.? but not reproduce. I wonder how much they cost...--Alan rosier 16:20, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Well, we have a license to use the GoogleMaps images (and it's free). I looked to see if there was an extension that would help us display these images, but there isn't and consequently no info about licensing. Maybe Micro$oft can advise us on licensing? As it stands at the moment, I'm sure (when the Wiki becomes more popular) M$ will ask us to remove them. --Tim Hoddy 16:36, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

They are great but we should avoid the legal problems they will invariably bring. On a related note .. i'm hearing loads of rumours from government circles that there is a very good chance that OS will be forced to make it's mapping freely available in 2010.  :) --Del 17:51, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
