BOLTING POLICY

Retro bolting permissible with first ascensionist's permission. Replacement of worn fixed gear on a point for point basis with bolts permissible. New sports routes allowed.

PREAMBLE

An abandoned limestone quarry workings just off the Brynaman to Llangadog road which are interpreted to the public. The site affords panoramic views over the western end of the Geopark. Abandoned quarry workings, pits and limekilns abound.

Geology: Carboniferous: Lower Limestone Shale, Cil-yr-Ychen Limestone, Llandyfan Limestone, Upper Limestone Shale, Twrch Sandstone ... and Old Red Sandstone (Devonian): Brownstones Formation

ACCESS

The quarry is located just south of the village of Bethlehem in the Black Mountains.

1. By car – on A4069 Llangadog-Brynaman road
2. By train – nearest station is at Llangadog - see Traveline Cymru
3. By bus – see Traveline Cymru; nearest services are to Brynaman and 280/281 through Llangadog
